Une promenade dans le riad

Arrival

The door on the derb.

The riad keeps its back to the lane. A studded door, a painted arch, and then the house opens.

The Courtyard

Water, light, and four walls.

Everything in the house turns inward toward the pool. The light moves across it all day, and the temperature drops the moment you step in.

The Rooms

Eight rooms, no two alike.

Carved cedar, tadelakt walls the colour of the earth outside, and windows that open onto the courtyard or the street below.

The Table

Where the day gets broken up.

Breakfast on the terrace while it's still cool, and a long table indoors once the evening turns.

The Rooftop

Above the medina.

Shade through the heat of the day, and the whole city going quiet once the sun drops behind the Atlas.
